Teak is recognized for its stability and durability under all weather
conditions. Teak has long been the choise for marine use and ship
building. Some parks have benches made of Teak that are over 80 years
old.
Teak is a fine graned, dense hard wood that has tannic acid in it, this
helps protect your furniture from insects, decay and rot. The oil in
Teak gives a natural weather-proofing and makes a great choise for
outdoor furniture. Teak may also be used indoors.
Teak may be left natural, oiled, varnished or sealed. If used indoors
there will be less care needed, but you should keep an eye on it inside
or outside. when left to age naturaly Teak will turn a light silver gray
color, but the original color may be brought back by applying a coat of
Teak oil to the surface.
